Local charities might expect to see an influx of hand stitched
donations. The Elkhart County Extension Homemakers and Purdue University
Extension Service will sew for the greater good on Thursday.
The
groups invite community members to join them in putting this pastime to
work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Home and Family Arts Building on the
Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen. While they are in need to
volunteers who can help them sew their donations and who can provide
sewing machines, they invite anyone to help out for the event,
regardless of craft skills.
Lunch will be provided to all those
who volunteer. To learn more about this opportunity, contact Volunteer
Community Support Chairperson Ramona Huber at 642-4748.
Future sewing days will be held Jan. 10 and March 10, 2012.
