Craft Day
The Elkhart County Extension Homemakers will host their fall Craft Day
on Oct. 29 at the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds Home and Family Arts
building. The is open to everyone.
An all-day event, the Extension Homemakers will offer attendees a variety of fun and creative classes, from Reclaim a Jacket, which teaches how to breathe new life into an old jacket, to the Beaded Glass Cluster Bracelet class.
Classes range from $15 to $20 and last either a whole or a half day. Attendees can choose to take more than one class.
For registration or more information on classes visit the Purdue Extension Elkhart County website at www.ag.purdue.edu/counties/elkhart. To obtain a hardcopy form visit the Purdue Extension Elkhart County Office just inside Gate 2 of the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen. Pre-paid registration is required by Oct. 14.

Sewing Days
Local charities might expect to see an influx of hand stitched
donations. The Elkhart County Extension Homemakers and Purdue University
Extension Service will sew for the greater good on Thursday.
The groups invite community members to join them in putting this pastime to work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Home and Family Arts Building on the Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds in Goshen. While they are in need to volunteers who can help them sew their donations and who can provide sewing machines, they invite anyone to help out for the event, regardless of craft skills.
Lunch will be provided to all those who volunteer. To learn more about this opportunity, contact Volunteer Community Support Chairperson Ramona Huber at 642-4748.
Future sewing days will be held Jan. 10 and March 10, 2012.
